Preguntas de confirmación en algunos otros tiempos

 

 

Recuerde: las normas del Grupo A y Grupo B  (vea Formular Preguntas) se aplican: si la frase afirmativo contiene un auxiliar usamos palabras invertidas para formar el ‘tag question’; si no, debemos utilizar ‘to do’ en el ‘tag question’.


Cuando el verbo principal de la frase es ‘to go’ (ir) que debemos usar ‘to be’ en la pregunta de confirmación (tag question). Nunca se puede tener ‘goes he?’ o ‘go we?’ etcétera en un ‘tag ending’.

 

 

EJEMPLOS DE LOS CINCO TIEMPOS PRINCIPALES:

 

PRESENTE –

You live here, don’t you?

She likes cakes, doesn’t she?

We often visit grandma, don’t we?

He talks a lot, doesn’t he?

Negativo:

You don’t live here, do you?

She doesn’t like cakes, does she?

We don’t visit grandma often, do we?

He doesn’t talk much, does he?

 

PASADO SIMPLE –

He was there, wasn’t he?

You saw him, didn’t you?

She called here earlier, didn’t she?

They bought the clothes, didn’t they?

Negativo:

He wasn’t there, was he?

You didn’t see him, did you?

She didn’t call here earlier, did she?

They didn’t buy the clothes, did they?

 

FUTURO FORMAL –

You’ll be late, won’t you?

He’ll arrive tonight, won’t he?

They’ll meet us at school, won’t they?

I’ll work later today, won’t I?

Negativo:

You won’t be late, will you?

He won’t arrive tonight, will he?

They won’t meet us at school, will they?

I won’t work later today, will I?

 

FUTURO INFORMAL –

You’re going to break that, aren’t you?

She’s going to sing again, isn’t she?

You’re going to London, aren’t you?

He’s going to get better, isn’t he?

Negativo:

You’re not going to break that, are you?

She’s not going to sing again, is she?

You’re not going to London, are you?

He’s not going to get better, is he?

 

PRESENTE PERFECTO –

You’ve seen this before, haven’t you?

She’s said that in the past, hasn’t she?

They’ve lost all the money, haven’t they?

That dog has got fleas, hasn’t it?

Negativo:

You haven’t seen this before, have you?

She hasn’t said that in the past, has she?

They haven’t lost all their money, have they?

That dog hasn’t got fleas, has it?

Verbos: En español se usa el infinitivo en muchos casos cuando se usa el gerundio en inglés. Esto es un tema difícil que no es necesario aprender de una vez. Empiece ligeramente por leer y el Gerundio e Infinitivo de vez en cuando.
