Chapter Four

DOUBLE TROUBLE

Hello! Zuzu here! I’m sorry to say that I’ve been a bit upset today. I’m not exactly sad, but I’m not happy either.

The problem is that my teacher, Mr. Rodillo, has two heads.

If I still lived on the planet Hamoco this wouldn’t be a problem because our neighbors from Estorno, the Estornans, have two heads and we’re used to them.

The difference is that the Estornans have a brain in each head and it seems that Mr. Rodillo doesn’t. But I didn’t know that. He was in a really bad mood this morning.

When the Estornans think about something or have a feeling they do it with only one of their heads, while the other head is thinking or feeling something else.

So, if you meet an Estornan who is angry or depressed you can still talk to his other head and have a friendly conversation.

Everyone likes to be friendly with Estornans because they are three meters tall and weigh two hundred kilos. They have fists the size of a pig’s bum.

The Estornans’ heads can be side by side or they can be one behind the other, with the second one facing backwards. So, when the front head is feeling nasty we can go round the back and talk calmly to the other head.

Well! Mr. Rodillo’s other head is one of those that faces backwards. His first face was livid and he was glaring at me and talking fiercely.

I wasn’t worried but I thought I should let him calm down, so I went around behind him and spoke to his other head. This made him even angrier!

I was surprised that he was so annoyed but I quickly realized that his other head didn’t have a brain and it couldn’t speak, so I kept quiet.

But his mood just got worse and he was going from blue to red in the face. His other face looked pretty red too.

Of course, you know me, I didn’t want to hurt his feelings so I apologized and went and sat at the back of the classroom. See you soon, ZUZU

Zuzu’s teacher, Mr. Rodillo, has a big boil on the back of his neck at the moment and it makes him short-tempered.

He gave Zuzu a note to give to Mom, saying that Zuzu had been very naughty. Quelle surprise! [That’s French, you know.] Hmm, maybe you don’t know, but it is. You can ask anyone – well, anyone that’s French.
