ZUZU LULU AND YOU
An everyday tale of delusion, defiance
and disaster that will teach you English.
CHAPTER SIX
The AAAAA
By John James Carty
Hello, Zuzu here! I can’t tell you anything about my life today because it is top secret. So I’ll just talk about the weather.
It is a very nice day here in Santander, the sun is shining, the sky is…..Oh, I can’t go on like this.
I’ll tell you what happened yesterday but you must promise never to tell anyone about it, alright?
Last week I received a mysterious letter. It was mysterious because it was inside an envelope and I couldn’t read it.
I have noticed since I left Planet Hamoco that my X-Ray vision doesn’t work. When I am on Hamoco I can see through walls and even rocks.
Anyway, I opened the envelope and to my surprise it was a letter from the Active Atomic Agency and Authority of Andorra (the AAAAA).
I read the letter at one glance, using my famous photographic memory. It was from Mr. Montiponti, the international spy. He wants me to help the AAAAA to develop a new space suit for adventurous Andorran astronauts (AAAs) to wear when they go to Mars in the near future.
This is just the sort of challenge I like – I have a few tricks I can use from my days on Hamoco, such as using Mom’s curtains and making new snow boots made out of – er, snow.
I’ve also got a special astronaut tie that lights up once it is out of the Earth’s atmosphere. This will be very useful. I can’t stop to write any more now – I must check out Mom’s curtains to see if they are radio-active…
LULU WRITES:
Mom and Dad received a letter from school yesterday, about Zuzu’s new school uniform. They gave it to him to practice his reading. This was a mistake. He’s been going around with a big glass fish bowl over his head, saying he’s an astronaut.
I know for a fact that there were three fish in that bowl….goodness knows where they are now. He’s been reading his letter through the glass bowl with a big magnifying glass and a torch he got for his birthday.
He says the letter is written in invisible ink, but it looks OK to me, I can read it. Since yesterday he’s been going around sniffing our curtains every ten minutes.
I know Zuzu’s only seven, but that’s not always an excuse. He keeps asking me where Andorra is. Do you know where Andorra is?
